ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Bobbie Benton is the owner and founder of Wenning Touch Advocacy Agency, which rebranded in December 2025 and is now Ascend Advocacy Agency, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. She is a domestic violence advocate with more than 20 years of experience in the human services field, working with diverse populations including adjudicated youth, young adults transitioning from foster care, domestic violence survivors, returning citizens, individuals with disabilities, and at-risk youth.
As a survivor of domestic violence, Bobbie drew on her personal journey to step forward in faith and become an advocate. She uses her lived experience, professional knowledge, and testimony to empower, encourage, and support individuals navigating domestic violence situations.

In May 2020, Bobbie created the Stop Domestic Violence Program at Alternatives for Girls. This grant-funded initiative exceeded expectations and strengthened her commitment to advocacy. She later founded Wenning Touch Advocacy, a domestic violence and human services advocacy agency that has since evolved into Ascend Advocacy Agency.

Bobbie leads with honesty, integrity, and empathy, standing in the gap for vulnerable and underserved individuals through advocacy, education, and empowerment. Her work is grounded in providing compassionate, trauma-informed services that help individuals move from crisis to stability and healing.

She is also the host of the Life Essentials: The Self-Healer’s Journey podcast, which offers a safe space for victims, survivors, and thrivers to share their healing journeys and inspire others.

Bobbie holds an associate degree in mental health and social work from Oakland Community College and a bachelor of science in counseling and psychology from Rochester College. She is a certified life coach and a certified civil mediator through Oakland Mediation.
